Abhishek Banerjee, Member of Parliament and prominent political figure, led a delegation of 30 individuals to the Raj Bhavan in a significant move to address the issue of unemployment. The delegation's primary purpose was to present a letter highlighting the concerns of joblessness, specifically emphasizing the need for 100 days of employment under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA).
The meeting was scheduled with Governor C.V Anand Bose, who patiently received the delegation at 4:00 pm. Abhishek Banerjee conducted a protest for the past five days, striving to secure this meeting with the Governor.
During the meeting, Abhishek Banerjee, along with the delegation, engaged in a constructive dialogue with Governor C.V Anand Bose, presenting their memorandum on MGNREGS. The Governor assured them of his commitment to addressing the issue and pledged to bring it to the attention of the Government of India.
He conveyed his dedication to taking the necessary steps for the betterment of the people of West Bengal, demonstrating a willingness to collaborate on matters of vital importance.
